Gregory “Greg” Walcott Bishop
December 1, 1945 ~ October 21, 2024

Greg was born in La Mesa, California and is the beloved son of the late Earl Cecil Bishop (USN) and Georgianna Walcott Bishop. Greg was a retired Fire Captain, having proudly served 30 years with the Orange County Fire Authority. He began his firefighting career with the California Division of Forestry (CAL FIRE). In retirement, Greg found joy and fulfillment as a volunteer Ship’s Photographer for the Battleship Iowa Museum in San Pedro, California.

Greg passed away in Los Alamitos, California and is survived by his siblings, who will always miss and love him: his brothers James Generazzo (wife Jasmin), Jerome Rockwell (wife Harriett), Charles Hahling (late wife Rose); and his sisters Cecelia Bishop Graham (husband Walter) and Carol Bishop Partika (husband Walter). Greg will also be remembered and missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, former coworkers and shipmates of the Battleship Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at noon on November 18, 2024 on board the USS Iowa San Pedro, CA. The family requests a donation to OCFA  Benevolent Association at (714) 573-6240 instead of flowers.
