Eric Brien Wilson
1973 ~ 2023
Eric Brien Wilson
November 2, 1973 ~ June 11, 2023
Eric Brien Wilson of Garden Grove, California became glory bound on June 11, 2023. He was 49.
Eric was born in Los Angeles, California on November 2, 1973, to Ralph and Oneitha Ann (Ossey) Wilson, and grew up with his “Baby Brother”, Christopher Wilson. Eric attended Diamond Bar High School and went on to attend college at UCLA, where he played collegiate football from 1993-1995.
Eric worked in the food and beverage industry for over 35 years, 17 of those with Albertsons grocery, as well as Wild West Media, KRAFT Foods/Nabisco, and most recently at Keurig Dr. Pepper as an Operations Manager.
In 2003, Eric went on a group date to Dave & Busters, where he met and fell in love with his future wife Veronica (Blackburn) Wilson. They were later married in Long Beach, California on October 10, 2008. Together they have three children – Marquis (25), Mya (13), and Myles (10), two dogs Raider and Tucker, and Roxy and Lincoln who have already crossed over the rainbow bridge.
Eric loved football. You could always find him rooting for his UCLA Bruins (“Bruins for Life!”) and his Green Bay Packers, which he was a proud stakeholder of the team. He loved family trips to Las Vegas, and he always made sure to get in a game of blackjack, poker, and Wheel of Fortune slot machines. He had an addiction to buying lottery scratchers where he always seemed to pick the winning ticket. He enjoyed going to the movies, even if it meant going alone. Eric enjoyed listening to an array of music genres, was a history buff, checked the stock market daily, and was a huge fan of Star Wars. Eric was also passionate about good BBQ and he could make a mean rack of baby back ribs.
Eric is survived by his wife Veronica and their three children; his parents Ralph and Oneitha; his brother Chris; God sister Sabina; as well as MANY aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other chosen family. The most important thing to Eric was family and he loved you all dearly.
A Celebration of Eric’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at Garden Grove Church of God located at 8362 Trask Ave. Garden Grove, CA 92844. To honor some of Eric’s favorites you are encouraged to wear blue, UCLA, or Green Bay Packers attire to his service.

Eric, his beloved wife, and their family, could always light up the room with their smile. He was someone you would automatically gravitate towards with his contagious outgoing personality and I’m lucky to have had the pleasure of meeting him. Though he may be gone, he will never be forgotten and I know he will forever watch over his family. You will be missed, Eric. May you rest in peace.

Thank you Eric for opening the doors to your home with such hospitality and love. It could be months, years yet it felt like yesterday. Our family is honored to have experienced your laughter and the best greetings. May you rest in paradise. Veronica and kiddos- we adore you.
My UCLA boyfriend,
There are no words to describe the void you’ve left in this world. You made a positive impression everywhere you went, even at your own funeral. My family and I left feeling so convicted of not being present, rushing through life, not stopping to talk to our neighbors, surrendering our hardships to God. Thank you for making that impression on us! We will forever remember you for that huge smile, giant bear hugs, your love for your family, Ucla football and the Green Bay Packers. I will see you at the gates of paradise my UCLA boyfriend. Love, Your UCLA girlfriend 🩵 💛
I really didn’t know Eric other than I saw him every day for a year dropping off Miles. They came by my corner daily and it was a delight to see him smile and wave at me. What a smile! Even standing at my corner crossing kids it made my day. His smile was so bright and friendly! This last year I missed seeing your family drive by. I am sorry for the loss of your amazing husband and father, he will be in the hearts of everyone whose lives he touched, mine included. Much love, Christina
Daddy, It’s been 3 weeks since Jesus called you home. We lost you too soon and I’ll never know why, but we believe you finished what God called you do here on earth. We miss your hugs, your smile, your laugh, hearing you walk through the door, even yelling at us when we do something wrong. I would do anything to be able to hug you and give you a kiss one last time and listen to our song “Isn’t she lovely” – Stevie Wonder. I know you’re doing much better in heaven. We all love and miss you so much. Save me a spot up there and keep watching over us. Love you lots!!!💙
